DuckTales - the classic NES game by Capcom, is being remastered for the modern era. This was definitely one of my favorite games back in the NES's heyday, and I'm excited to see how this one turns out. For an example of who this 1980's game is being brought into the modern era, checkout this video trailer below

Disney Infinity is a new "gaming platform" that takes real toys (vinyl/pvc figures) embedded with NFC chips and brings them into your virtual world through the power of a USB powered Infinity Base. If this sounds at all familiar, it's because this is Disney's take on the Skylanders Franchise, with some new modes not found in the current Skylanders games (including the upcoming Swap Force).
There's a variety of Disney Franchises represented in the figures and playsets (the virtual Universe for each franchise). The game includes 2 different modes of play:
Playset/Questing mode: Toys from the same Universe (Monsters Inc. for examples) can solve puzzles, play mini-games, and run quests to earn in-game items and rewards. These could be travel/vehicle items, toys for your characters to play with, in-game currency, and more!
Toy Box mode: Toy Box mode has been described as Minecraft with Disney characters. The Toy Box is your own virtual created word. Think of it as if you dumped a huge box of lego pieces from all of your favorite sets on the floor, and then used them all to make any creation your imagine could think of! Almost everything you earn in the Playset/Questing mode can then be used in Toy Box mode. Developers have used the pieces to make a recreation of Bowser's Castle from Mario Kart, complete with a racer in a kart (in the case I read about, it Cinderella's magic buggy). The possibilities are endless! Creations in Toy Box mode can be saved and then shared with others. Any universe's characters can mix/mingle in Toy Box mode.
Online play (at least in Toy Box mode) allows others to join you and share in the creation and fun of your own virutal worlds. This part could be particular appealing to those of us who enjoy Minecraft so much, if you're not opposed to building with Disney themed objects
Platforms and Cost: The game should be available on all major platforms (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii/Wii U, 3DS, and PC) - and no matter what platform you have, you can join in and play with each other
- Starter Packs (includes the game, Infinity Base, 3 characters, and 3 playsets) will run about $75 USD
- Single Character Packs will run about $13 USD
- Triple Packs of characters will run about $30 USD
- Playsets (include 1 Universe and 2 characters from that Universe) will run about $35 USD
- Power Discs (Blind/Random 2 packs that contain one circular character stat boost/buff disc, and one weapon/mount/world/sky hexagonal disc) for $5 USD
I realize that this game/playstyle might not appeal to everyone, especially given the cost of the characters/playsets (which are in essence DLC in a physical form that you purchase to unlock in-game content). But I think there's also a lot of potential in this game, especially with it's cross platform compatibility and the Toy Box mode that would let us all create fun worlds where can interact in whatever way we choose
EA Maxis's latest entry into the SimCity is a serious reboot from their last attempt. The guys who worked on SimCity 4 claim that this is what SimCity would have been if they had had the technology.
Anyways, it releases on March 5th!
For now, it's HIGHLY ADVISEABLE to disable your Java Plugin until further notice! There's a huge security vulnerability that could easily be launched without any knowledge/interaction on your part while you browse the web. Some browsers, such as Firefox, are already trying to help by disabling the Java plugin for you...but one can never be too careful.
In some cases, it might be easier to just remove the plug-in for now, as you can always reinstall it later. This will mean no Minecraft or browser based web-games (and indeed some other games), but it's a far better thing to be without those games for a bit, then to have you entire computer hacked, data stolen, and everything you care about lost.
And yes, I'm even disabling the Java plugin, and removing it from most of my network machines, just to be on the safe side. Links with info below, and post more if you find them

So for any of you who remember MegaMan from the glory days of the NES/SNES, MegaMan is currently celebrating his 25th Anniversary. A fan made game, apparently picked up by Capcom to some extent, pits MegaMan vs the Street Fighter champions in true 8-bit gaming style. Best of all, this fan made project, can be had for the awesome price of FREE for the PC.
Download Street Fight X MegaMan from the Capcom-Unity website.
Are any of MegaMan fans going to pick this one up? I know I will be
Alright, grab your power armor, big guns and rocket boots and join us for a little mass slaughter and mayham. We've got plenty of new characters and there are lots of things to be shooting for xps, and there is also plenty of things for us to learn about this newest game in the Adversity Library, so why not join the three?
So far those of us who have tried the game have had a blast with it, and we have plenty of beta invites left, so why haven't the rest of you joined us yet?
Come on out and join us as we indulged in a little sci-fi tropical warfare as we combat mutants, aliens, bandits and our limited understanding of the game.
We will play and learn and help each other figure out this whole Firefall thing out.
