Is the link to the map the same one from the first post in this thread?  It's showing an old map for me.

I was on earlier today and had no problem, but now when I login I get a the following error:

InternalException: i.o.nettyhandler.timeout.Read Timeout Exception

Does anyone know what this is?  can other people log in?

Yup, sorry. I was doing a manual world backup to prepare for a new map.

Has there been a map update recently?  I am having weird issues with the map where I see different stages of development depending on my zoom level...

I just stopped the server to do a backup. I'll start the mapping software while I'm at it. We should have a new map by the end of the day.

I'm currently using Overviewer. Previously, we were using Tectonicus, which I preferred. I do not understand the second part of your question. Do you mean how and where do I upload the map?

I upload the map via FTP client to space Pax lends me on the same server running this website.

I preferred Tectonicus but I can't get it to work correctly anymore. There are another half dozen or so programs that do the same thing. Almost all of them are command line controlled and have no GUI.

Currently, the maps are about 2.5 gigs, 4 times the size that they were with Tectonicus. Keep in mind that the size is completely contingent on the options I choose when rendering the map, and can vary widely.

How active are folks in Minecraft these days?

I was playing sporadically and thinking about what to do next when I stumbled across a village!  What better project could there be than to build a nice castle on the hill above the village and observe the peasants at work.

I'm still playing regularly, but its only you and me now Blasty. I'd still be up for some collaboration.

Well!  Feel free to come over and exploit the minions!

The village is located over in Exile East - take the lighthouse railroad and when you come out and are looking at the house follow the coast to the right - I put down some rudimentary pathways to make it easier.

There are two hills near the village - I started putting a road up the first hill and was thinking of building a big bridge across the gap at the top to the second hill where the castle would go.

I'm also up for any other projects you might want to collaborate on
