Someone went exploring. I see some cool areas to build a home, too.
The Eagle has landed!Check out my site!: http://plywoodsniper.webs.com/list.htm
Server is down while I move it to a new IP address. The new machine has more processor power and faster RAM.
More info pending.
Server is back up. Check here for additional info.

I don't "need" to do shit.
Hey Kro! After asking me for a new map twice a day for more than a week I just wanted to let you know I updated the map. No need to thank me.
yes I know.. thank marq
There were a few of us online at the same time last night and it seemed like the server was performing without a hitch - thanks Marq for all your efforts in maintaining this!
I finished my lighthouse project and farm, but this was really just meant to be a starting point for me to gather resources and find an area to explore. I took a boat ride and discovered "Exile East', a new large area across the sea to the east of the spawn area. If you are interested in checking it out there is a tunnel that goes all the way there under the ocean that can be accessed from inside the lighthouse (railway coming soon).
I plan on building a bunch of buildings in an group together over in the new area. I will be naming the community "The Ember Rose Edifice Complex"
Yesterday was a great day of Minecraft - I can really feel the game calling me back!
Thanks again for exacting revenge upon the midget zombie and being nice enough to pick up all my stuff!
I enjoyed having so many on simultaneously, especially since we were interacting directly and not just in our own little worlds. It was a nice stress test for the new server. Also, Blasty, your lighthouse is a work of engineering artistry. The best working lighthouse I've seen yet.
Thanks for the kudos but i want to share the credit. The server move, (and improvement) would not have been possible without Pax. The current machine running the server is based in his home and his help made the move work. Also, Ember should get a nod here too, since it was her idea to examine other options to improve MC server performance.
I had a great time last night as well! The server performance is great even though we had 5 people on, two of whom were riding horses across the desert at sunset (try it, it feels like a western :)).
Just one more block and I swear I'll stop.
It's never too early for a glass of wine and some zombie shooting.
I'm thrilled to hear the server move has gone so well - hooray for our "new" server, and much thanks to Marqaha for maintaining it for us all to use, and Ember and whoever else created this simply amazing world that we got cast out of
New map will be up by 7:30 PM eastern.
Server will be down for 5 minutes while I experiment with new settings in the server.cfg.
It's back up, updated to 1.7.4. The changes I made to the CFG should be invisible to everyone with one exception: taking advantage of the distance view bug fix and the higher processing power of the new server I've increased the max view distance to 12 chunks from 8. Enjoy those sweeping vistas!
I've also added remote console (RCON) capabilities for a future update that should allow Ember and I to control the server from our phones.
What an awesome crew. From inception (hehe, get it?) to spit and polish on the hamster wheel.
If you don't mind could you while list my son Joe (littleblast)? He would like to help me out with some projects.
Also, I was on a couple of times today - Around 3:30 - 4:30 everything seemed fine, but after 4:30 everything got really laggy. I logged back on around 9:00 PM and it was still pretty bad. Both times I was the only one logged in.

Not sure why you encountered such lag, but thanks for bringing it to out attention so we can troubleshoot.
Thanks for adding Joe - I'm sure he will be excited.
I logged back in this morning and was having the same issues. I rebooted my machine and reset my router to make sure it wasn't a problem on my end and it didn't seem to have any effect.
Specifically what is happening is it takes about 10 - 15 seconds to open a chest and some other interactions like shearing sheep and opening gates are likewise impacted.
Farming and cutting wood seemed to work fine. Feeding livestock went OK, but after a bit I was caught up in some major 'rubber banding' issues. I could get 20 - 30 blocks away from a spot and kept getting pulled back. I actually starved to death last night as I kept rubber banding while trying to eat (should have logged I guess).
Hope this info helps.
Met Blasty online this morning and we have figured it out. Let's see how it goes after he culled about 300 cows.
Way to cause global warming in minecraft, Blasty! Think of the children.
The lag seems to come and go. I did cull the herd, but not the sheep. I moved to the opposite side of the map (the railway is complete!) and am still getting random lag spikes. Nothing as bad as i saw yesterday, but still not running as smoothly as a few days ago.
By the way - the other side of the map is nice. Lots of dark oak, giant mushrooms, witches...
hmm... could we get an update map .. please.. thank marq

Apparently Littleblast found a nether fortress. If you stumble on it please don't break the Blaze spawners. We can farm them later for brewing potions.
Hey! I was there too! I will give Joe 93.8 percent of the credit, but I shouldn't just be left out...

marqaha wrote: Blasty wrote: Hey! I was there too! I will give Joe 93.8 percent of the credit, but I shouldn't just be left out...Sorry about that. I posted that in a hurry before we all farmed the blazes together! Thanks to both of you!
No Worries. My part in the adventure mainly involved following Joe around saying things like:
"how did you do that" or "WOW"
later I took a more active role functioning as a team speak intermediary (Joe and I were in the same room. Marq and I were on team speak).
Thanks again for adding Joe to the group - it isn't often we get to spend time gaming together (even though we are both gaming and sit 4 feet apart)
Blasty and Marqaha, are the lag spikes still an issue, or were you able to track down the source?
