Any members interested in performing a guild Wildstar are welcome to do so  - but Razor's point about the endgame is a valid one Wink  Right now, if the handful of you who have pre-ordered the game do create an Adversity guild, please let us know, so that others interested can find you, and I can create pages and other such information so they can find you Good

I pre-ordered and played quite a bit this weekend.  My concerns about the volume of quests have gone away - it seems like a pretty balanced approach all in all.

With the beta level cap I will probably spend a lot of the upcoming beta weekends working on paths and crafting.

There's not much info on how the preorder hoverboard will work.  Currently most mounts are available at 14 and during the closed beta you got a hoverboard at 10 in the mail...rest of the time the boards are available at 25 I think.  So no idea.

And I don't plan on starting one honestly.  With the endgame activities a large guild is desired so I'll probably find one to join.

And then you'll get me an invite to it?

Well as long as you are coordinating a new home for us in Wildstar I'll take an invite as well Smile

Before you place blind faith in me, perhaps you should ask about my TERA guild history...

It should be an interesting ride!  I haven't started on the ground floor for a game like this (unless you count Firefall), so this is rather new territory for me.  I assume that we will all find groups of people that we enjoy playing with along the way and can share our experiences.

I tend to be a pretty heads down quest grinding type until i reach end game, but if Wildstar has opportunities for more group play along the way I may be tempted to change my ways...

Razor, if you, Blasty, and Ant find a home, or decide to create a guild of your own, be sure to let us know, in case others decide to venture into the Nexus and need friends/home to turn to Good

I'm glad you 3 are enjoying the experience in game, and please continue to keep us posted Smile

I usually just post something on the game forums saying the usual crap about what I am looking for in a guild, a bit about myself and see what hooks drop.  I've had pretty good finding fun groups...

....then it all goes to hell.  Like it did in TERA...

Join a guild at head start, and around launch it merges with another guild.  Leader goes MIA, we lose people (including a lot of people from the original guild I was in, but they turned out to be douchebags) and we get new leaders and it goes well until they go MIA.  So a bunch of us quit to reform the guild so that someone can have GM rights, but hends up doing a pretty shitty job and plays favorites so I call him out on it and the guild goes into turmoil and stabilizes slightly.  Then he goes MIA, and someone else takes over and after a while we merge with another guild, which in turns ends up sucking, so we splinter off and form another guild and it's fun for a while...until, you guessed it..the GM goes MIA.  The guild implodes and we all mostly go our own ways.  I find a new guild that's pretty awesome and very much like Adversity during its prime in CoH.  One of the GM's ends up not playing cause of school, and the other can't really keep up with the load...buncha people leave, guild pretty much dies and I quit TERA.

Not sure if I am good for a guild or not...

Oh and Blasty, there is quite a bit of group play for the game with dungeons, adventures and PvP.

Our WOW GM has been MIA for a looooong time  (That's right - I'm looking at you Johnny Concrete), but we decided to leave things well enough alone and continue on.  We have a pretty strong core of people in the leadership 'committee' right now and so far everything works great.

I know where you are coming from though, my previous guild experiences in WOW were less than stellar and had me considering quitting the game several times.

I'll have to check out more of the group play options - that can often lead to finding a group to hang out with as well.

I'll take your advice about trolling for a guild and hopefully we can all end up somewhere together.

i got a beta code in my inbox last week but laughed all the way to the DELETE button.

Fuck you NCSoft.  The hurt is too fresh and I have convictions and am not swayed by popular peer pressure.  I keep my promises.

This might be a bit of old news, but just in case Wink

For those interested in WildStar, there was a fairly large patch issued that contains a new UI and higher difficulty encounters.  Patch highlights include:

  • Because we're still in beta, these patch notes may be unintentionally missing various changes and updates. We'll continue to update the notes as needed, so if you discover anything missing, please let us know!
  • A completely revamped User Interface has been introduced to the game! The UI will continue to be polished over the coming months, so please pardon our dust.
  • Stun Breakout Gameplay has been changed. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on this mechanic over the last few months!
  • PvP gear (especially at level 50) has had a balance pass done. This affects your current gear, so check the proper section below.
  • Runes and rune sets have had a balance pass. This affects your current gear, so check out the details below before you head back into the world!
  • Higher difficulty encounters and creatures have been added throughout the world. These creatures will grant larger quest credit and XP for those willing to take on the added difficulty.

This news reached me via MMORPG.com

Full patch notes can be found via the WildStar online forums:

The one thing I was eager to see, but hasn't surfaced yet was the additions to character creation.  They apparently added more hairstyles and body types, the later being a big deal I think...so just gonna have to wait until tomorrow.

I won't get too much play time in this weekend (70 people coming to dinner on Sunday), but if the level cap is still set at 17 I don't think I'll be missing much.  I would like to play with the character creator a bit, so if that is up and running I could  fit that in sometime.

I will see you on Stormtalon!

Any thoughts as to which faction/ class you are going to roll?

Draken Stalker to start, was heavily considering going warrior for a while, but I gotta have my claws.

Glad to hear that you are going Dominion.  I played a lot of Exiles during Beta and want to try something different.  Thinking perhaps Mechari warrior.  I really like the idea of the engineer, but the pets seemed to get progressively worse during beta...

For those of you who are interested in WildStar, but haven't ventured into the game yet, here's a brief opening review of how IGN felt WildStar's headstart went this past weekend:

For those of you who took part in the Beta/headstart weekend, how did your time in the Nexus go?

Headstart was a little rough, only from the standpoint of huge server populations creating long queues to just get into the game.  Otherwise the game is great...though I am taking a pretty laid back approach right now to the game and am only playing in little bursts, so my character is only level 18.  I don't really feel compelled to rush through the game to get to level cap right now.

I agree with razor.  The ques were long, so much so I had to change servers.  But so far so good.

"Every MMO out there that I know of has mounts, right?" Oh, MMOs...

Of all the things I've lost,
I think I miss my mind the most.

The original server I chose has huge wait times, so I rolled an alt on another server, but I'm thinking of just moving completely to the new server.

I'm probably about level 8 on both characters as I haven't had much time to play - having too much fun with the rest of Adversity in Firefall.

I never promised not to ever buy NCSoft again, but I was very very close to that sentiment.
So far I haven't been able to get over that bias in regards to WildStar, and after hearing Uncle Scam talk about it last night hasn't enticed me toward it.

I bought the game, but I haven't played much at all,  I leveled characters to about 20 in the beta, but lost interest around level 8 after the launch.  I'm going to give it a bit of time and see if i can rekindle my interest, but I think there is a good chance that this game may end up shelved indefinitely.
