Civilization: Beyond Earth

I've been waiting for a sequel to Alpha Centauri and this is the closest we'll ever come.

I'm stoked about this game - it's been far too long, and this "sequel" looks like it could be awesome Good

Your posting here doesn't change what I said last night. Smile

Hmm... This does seem interesting to me, especially the "civilisation against the environment" aspect. I do wonder, though, how much diplomacy will play a part. I actually rather enjoy turn-based strategy games, but a consistent bugbear of mine in Civilisation games throughout history has actually been diplomacy and the incentive to be a genial human being. And not, you know, just killing everybody and taking their cities. Long stretches of peacetime mean I skip over interesting combat units and by the time I have jets and tanks and ICBMs, the entire world's too afraid of me to start a fight Smile

However, I know Civ V's system has been tremendously popular and the basis for a number of successful games (Age of Wonders looks interesting, for instance), so I fully expect this one to be another huge hit.

Of all the things I've lost,
I think I miss my mind the most.

I love this type of game. I can't see this one being an exception. Smile
